'Lunachicks' is a calypso written in the style of Sonny Rollins' St. Thomas. It can be played at 132-144. It has a 32 bar from with a slightly tricky bridge. There are two solo variations. The first is an easier 8 bar form, the second form is more complex and follows the tune. You can get the guitarists and/or pianists to join in at the B section of the melody or when soloing begins if you wish to add some variety when presenting the tune for a concert. For flute, trumpet, alto & tenor saxes, bone and rhythm section.

'Gospel Blues' is a funky jazz-rock piece written in the style of the Cannonball Adderley Quintet's hit 'Mercy, Mercy, Mercy'. The solo section is ideal for students new to improvisation, as a Bb blues scale will work over the whole progression. Piano and guitar parts have been notated in full with the option to comp. Drum and bass grooves are also notated and can be read exactly or used as a guide.
