Gai arrived in Sydney after graduating from the University of Adelaide where she studied Jazz Performance. She has worked with Carl Orr, Mark Simmonds, Paul McNamara, Sandy Evans, Jackie Orzaczky, Jann Rutherford, Lloyd Swanton, Janet Seidel, Don Burrows and Roger Frampton and others. Mike Gibbs
Mike Gibbs is a composer, arranger and trombonist. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music, Boston, he has worked with many of the leading lights of the music world including Pat Metheny, John McLaughlin, John Scofield, Michael Mantler, Mike Stern, Joni Mitchell, Whitney Houston and Peter Gabriel. Tony Hobbs
Affectionately know as “The Beast” Tony began his musical career on E flat Tuba twice being awarded National Tuba Champion in his early teens. In the early seventies he attended the Sydney Conservatorium of Music High School and with trumpeter Paul Terracini started the first Big Band at the Conservatorium. Learn more about Tony Hobbs
Jim McNeely
Jim’s reputation as composer/arranger and conductor for large jazz bands continues to flourish, and has earned him nine Grammy nominations. William Motzing
During his career as a professional trombonist Bill performed with Kai Winding Septet, Jon Eardley Quintet, Gerry Mulligan Big Band,Bill Russo Big Band, Sal Salvador Big Band, Eastman-Rochester Symphony and the Pittsburgh Symphony.
